EJRC Home Katrina Update Hot Topics
Hurricane Katrina has taken the lives of many people in the states bordering the Gulf of Mexico. The destruction was so devistating that cleanup still has a long way to go today. Much like an errupting volcano covers the surrounding land, Hurricane Katrina had wiped out the land and caused the birth of nature and new lives of people and animals.
I personally have visited Louisiana to help with disaster relief. First hand experience has shown that physical damage was not all that was affected. There were jobs lost, social structures ruined, and lives dramatically changed. Many people have not realized that there is still much to be done in regards to clean up.
The EJRC can play an important roll in the reconstruction of the damaged land. As shown in the picture above, chaos has taken over in many places. Law and order has been destroyed which causes people to fend for themselves. The EJRC can help spread the word of the quality of life by providing Hurricane Katrina disaster relief updates. It is often the case that people forget the current conditions of the disaster because the popular news has turned its eyes from it. Even though the picture above seems quite humorous, the fact that people's lives are threatened every day is not a laughing matter and much work still needs to be done.
