| Amy has lived in the small town of [http://www.hawthornenj.org/ Hawthorne], New Jersey, for her entire life. Hawthorne may seem nondescript, however, it is home to the well-known and sought-after drum corps, "[http://www.cabs.org/ The Cabelleros]." Amy's home is also within sight of a [http://www.fairlawnnews.com/Sept-Oct-2000/Nabisco%20Factory-sept2000.htm Nabisco factory], which is one of four nationwide. Incidentally, this is the factory that creates Oreos; thus, when it's humid or raining, her entire town smells of cookies.

| Hawthorne is also the home of Debbie Harry, better known as the hit singer "Blondie." Unfortunately, she refuses to acknowledge ever living there and refers to it as "some little hick town in New Jersey."

| However, because there were so few young families there, the Rose family moved to [http://www.gracebiblenorthhaledon.com/ Grace Bible Church] in North Haledon when Amy was six years old. There, she became active in the church choir, played clarinet during the services, organized crafts for Children's Church, and sang solos.

During her sophomore year she became a TEAM Leader and frequently did talks and organized meetings. | Amy began dancing at a young age, taking classes in ballet and jazz from [http://www.hsod.com/ Hawthorne School of Dance]. She then dabbled in lyrical ballet and finally fell in love with Irish step dancing under the instruction of Erin and Meg Cumascaigh. When her teachers moved away, however, she relocated to the Ardmore Academy of Irish Dance. Dissatisfied with Ardmore and the other schools in the area, Amy and some friends took on the responsibility of forming their own dance group, The Rocks and Reels. This group choreographed their own dances, ran their own rehearsals, and performed at a myriad of events including charity functions, nursing homes, and church meetings. The group disbanded when its members began to leave for college.
