Bologna Airport is served by Bologna International Airport / Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) and also Forlì Airport.

Bologna Bus Station is located at the ATC (Azienda Trasporti Comunali) in the Piazza XX Settembre. There are also less frequent services to many other destination in the region and some international buses to Amsterdam, Paris, London, Brussels, Prague and Warsaw.

Bologna by Train: the Stazione Centrale is located in the Piazza Medaglie d'Oro. Trains travel from there to Florence, Milan, Ravenna, Rimini, Venice, and many other regions of Italy.

Ryan Air offers low cost flights throughout Europe. The airline has two direct flights from Bologna to London and Frankfurt. Flight are available out of Milan and Venice to many cities throughout Europe, including Norway, France, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, and Holland. The rights on many of the flights are relatively reasonable. The prices for a flight from Bologna to London ranged from 34.99 EUR to 129.99 EUR each way. EasyJet also offers lost cost flights to 59 European cities, including Bologna. The only direct flight available from Bologna is to London-Stansted, Britain. However, the airline also flys out of Pisa, Venice and Milan to other cities throughout Europe including Berlin, Paris, Bristol, and Gatwick. The rates on EasyJet are similar to those of Ryan Air. Travel throughout Bologna and Italy:

It seems that one of the very useful ways to travel throughout Bolgona as well as throughout Europe is by train. Bologna is one of the main connections on the FS rail network. The FS rail travels to “Florence, Milan, Ravenna, Rimini, Venice and most other regions in Italy from the Stazione Centrale in the Piazza Medaglie d'Oro.” The Bologna train station is on the north end of the city and buses can be taken to the station if you are not near the Piazza Maggiore which is only a 10 to 15 minute stroll to the station. Eurorail is one of the many ways of traveling cheaply all throughout Europe. Eurorail offers a “youth” pass and for once you don’t have to be 12 and under to get the cheap ticket. 25 years of age and under and you are able to travel cheaply throughout Europe.
