The Negro Story was a bi-monthly magazine that was first published in 1944, in Chicago. It was created for the express purpose of dispelling myths about African-Americans (Sylvester, 2006). Negro Story mainly published short stories, but it also contained book reviews and interesting facts about people, both black and white, that contributed to the magazine.
