Wesleyan Univ. 12.5%

Northwestern Univ. 14.6%

Brown Univ. 17.2%

  • This clearly indicates that Black students still feel threatened while on their college campus because of acts of racism, whether it be harrasment in the form of words, violence, or vandalization.
  • In the context of the recent event at Duke University involving Lacrosse team members and two female strippers, which has resulted in two young men being indicted, these percentages are additionally potent.
  • Many of these wealthy, stereotypically white, colleges are located in predominantely black cities. This scenario creates more opportunities for the types of conflicts that this study measures.
