Thomas Robert Malthus was born in Dorking, a town just south of London, in 1766. His fathers name was Daniel Malthus and his mothers name was Henrietta Malthus. He grew up in a wealthy family with 8 siblings. In Malthus' early childhood he received his education mainly from his father and from various tutors. In 1784 Malthus went off to Cambridge, England where he enrolled in Jesus College. In college Malthus was very interested with the studies of Latin and Greek. However he eventually ended up mastering in mathematics. While at Jesus College Malthus was made a minister of the church of England, in 1788. | |||

Life
