El Portrero Chico is unique in the world of climbing because of its moderate grades (lots of climbs in the 5.11 and under range and long bolted routes. While this is no place for beginners, climbers with moderate sport climbing background, substatial self riliance and some training in self rescue can climb long (4-15 pitch) routes with a rack of draws and a days supply of food and water.
