App. TRAIL TRIP INFO:
Sorry to make this so last minute, but the details of this weekend's outing on the AT are finally here! Without further ado:
PLACE: ATS parking lot (the spot that borders Dickinson Walk, close to the library) TIME: 10am tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 21
BRING: clothing you can get dirty, water, lunch, rain gear, compass if you have one. IMPORTANT: please email me if you have a car and are willing to drive. I am having problems reserving vehicles and so far only have 1 car, which can fit 1 of me and 4 of you. If 1 person is willing to use their personal vehicle and drive people, that would be a huge help.
We will be driving about 15 minutes to Scott Farm, which happens to be the central location for both boundary monitoring and trail construction. From there we will meet with several people from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy who will give us some information about the conservancy and the trail and give us a tutorial on boundary monitoring. Assuming that the ATC needs our help doing trail construction (they haven't gotten back to me yet about whether they need us for the construction) we will then break up into 2 groups: 1 for monitoring and 1 for construction. We will then spend the rest of the morning and into the afternoon doing these things. We can talk when we get there about when we want to end, depending on peoples' schedules, but I would say to make it worth it we should be out there until at least mid-afternoon. Any questions, please email or call me at the number below. Thanks for signing up, can't wait to get out on the AT with you guys!
