Betty Friedan was born in 1921 and is most well known for her book ''The Feminine Mystique'' which was written in the beginning of the second wave of feminism and talked about the life that women lead as homemakers and taking care of the family is not necessarily what they want. With the results from a questionnaire she was able to prove that some women are meant to be in the work force as opposed to being confined to the home.
