Music art and literature are tools that have been used to further many social movements. Each offer different aspects that can be utilized in aiding marginalized individuals and challenge the oppressive dominate class. Music can be used to communicate injustices caused by these systems of oppression and can help individuals gather strength within communities. People have used art as an expression through many different types of movements, such as feminism movements, labor movements, and racial discrimination movements. The different mediums, novels, newspapers, and magazines, have been used to spread messages about the plight of marginalized groups and have acted as catalysis for social change.
