These men strive to aknowlege the gender roles that are placed on them. They then take that recognition and educate other young men and women. Their action helps to support anti-sexism in a society that largley places women in certain roles based on their gender. This is often difficult for men to speak out because of societal influences, such as being called a "fag" or "sissy." Men realize their actions have affects on women and society as a whole.

Authors write on the struggles that men face when trying to stand up against gender roles that inhibit them from being anti-sexist.
