Susan B. Anthony was born in 1820 and is most well known for her active role in the National Woman's Suffrage Association and her beliefs on temperance and anti-slavery. In her early years she traveled through the United States delivering speeches about women's rights and eventually became a delegate in the National Labor Union. It was there that she instructed women to enter the work force in jobs where men were on strike. By the end of her life she focused on bringing the National Woman's Suffrage Association and the American Woman Suffrage Association together, to make a strong force in order to gain the right to vote for women.
