New Tech Setup

Note to Becka: Make sure all techs are administrators on both machines Add techs to RSA AD group & TrackIt users group

Welcome to the RSA! All new techs must log into both RSA computers and do some set-up: - email (yours & RSA) - program & network shortcuts - FileMaker Pro (for RSA database) - Track-It (User Services database/workorder system) - Network password Reset tools

Getting Started

Log into the comp with your network password. You have admin rights to both the RSA machines. Customize anything you like: wallpaper, icons, settings, etc. Don’t believe the wallpaper which says that everything will be deleted upon restart!

RSA Network Share

1. Right-click on My Computer. 2. Choose “Map Network Drive” 3. Select the drive letter you want 4. The Folder is \\files\fasfiles$\RSA 5. Check the box for Reconnect at logon 6. Click Finish 7. The RSA network share will open!

Track-It

1. Username: rsa 2. Password: mudshark

Shortcuts

Open C:\Program Files\ and make shortcuts from…. - FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 5.5\FileMaker Pro.exe - Numara Software\Track-It! 7.0\Technician ClientTIWin.exe - Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe - Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe (if you like) - Plus any other programs you would like Open My Computer and create a shortcut to the RSA network share. Right-click on the desktop and create a new shortcut to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools


FileMaker Pro

1. Edit > Preferences > Application a. “General” tab… b. User Name: type in your name c. Network Protocol: TCP/IP 2. Close & re-open FileMaker 3. Open an existing document…. a. Click on “Hosts” b. Choose “Specify Host” c. Type in “admin” and check the box to permanently add it to the list d. After it does its little network dance, a list of databases will appear. Choose RSAapp.fp5 4. The password is... mudshark

Email (Thunderbird preferred)

Start Thunderbird. Do not import anything. Add the RSA email account: 1. Name = ResNet Services Annex 2. email = rsa@dickinson.edu 3. IMAP server 4. mail.dickinson.edu for both incoming & outgoing 5. Incoming username = rsa 6. Account Name = RSA 7. Current email password: ¬¬¬________________________

Once in the program, change these settings: Tools > Options General: - I usually uncheck the Thunderbird Start Page Composition: - Forward messages: Inline - √ Directory server, click on Edit Directories - Name = Dickinson Community - Hostname = ldap.dickinson.edu - Base DN: ou=lookup,o=Dickinson College - Click on OK Rest of the settings are ok, click on OK.

Tools > Account Settings, under “RSA” In “RSA” - Attach this signature - Choose… - Select rsa-sig.txt Composition & Addressing - Uncheck “Compose in HTML” Rest of the settings are ok, click on OK. Then you can add your own email account.
