There is a registry file that needs to be imported. It's in the Fix CD in \Utils\exe File Association Regedit

Then you need to do a few things:

1. Browse to c:\windows\

2. Set View Options to Show Hidden Files and Show File Extensions

3. Change regedit.exe to regedit.com

4. Copy the registry file from the Fix CD \Utils\exe File Association Regedit to the Desktop (just to be safe) 5. Right click on the reg file. Choose the top option, Merge. 6. You might see a window asking you to choose the program with which to open this file. Click on Choose (or Browse...) and navigate to c:\windows\regedit.com, select it, and click on OK. 7. Regedit will show up on the list of Programs to use. Do that thing, and import that reg file into the user's registry. 8. Programs should now open properly.

2 Caveats: - I'm writing this stuff off the top of my head, having only had to do this 2-3 times in the past 5 years, and even though I just did this again a few minutes ago, I may have gotten some verbiage wrong. - I have a bad headache and am so not in the mood to be writing documentation right now, but Bachmann made me do it.  :-P
