La Raza Unida focuses on assisting the Texas public schools in any way as many Latin-American students go these institutions to receive an education. They are in favor of bilingual education programs. They are also in favor of funding for Texas colleges and universities, as well the increased enrollment of Latin-Americans in the universities. The organization is strongly against the voucher program as well as Bush’s no child left behind policy, as these programs undercut an already heavily meager-funded public education system.
