How to record a show through Sound Forge
- Open SF from desktop
- Push red circular record button on top bar
- Make sure music is coming through speaker and green bars are registering sound
- If sound not coming through check these items:
- Switch #8, next to the right sound gauge on the board, should be at "C" where there is a red arrow pointing that says "station"
- Pot 8 should be at P1 and at 6 on volume
- Speaker on top can be turned up to hear station coming through but this doesn't affect the actual recording level
- If sound not coming through check these items:
- Push red button to start recording
- Hit square stop to finish when recording is finished
- Close record window but leave open finished recording
- Edit recording by using mouse to highlight sections to delete at beginning and end of file
- When finished, choose Process>Time Stretch on the top bar
- In section next to final time, make cd exactly 60 minutes long
- time is shown 00:00:00:000
- first 3 on the right are milliseconds, next 2 to the left of that are seconds, next 2 to the left are minutes and last 2 are hours. Be careful to make sure you set this up properly or you may instead accidently create a 60 program instead of a 60 minute.
- time is shown 00:00:00:000
- When finished, go to "file > save as" and choose to save it as an mp3
- Save in My docs, My music, choose folder of show or create new folder with show title
- Close SF when finished.
