Lucretia Mott may have not been alive for the First Wave Feminist period, she was a ground breaker for the activism of women and blacks in America. As a Quaker during the 19th Century she would give powerful speeches preaching for the abolition of slavery and even traveled to England for the World Anti-Slavery Convention. It was not until she wrote her book Discourse on Woman that her name became more well known. Once slavery was abolished Mott worked on gaining the right to vote for blacks and women.
