The Seneca Falls Convention took place in Seneca Falls New York in July of 1848. The convention was held to discuss the ways that women were restricted while men were not, and hopefully make a difference in the law saying that it is illegal for women to vote. Elizabeth Cady Stanton is the primary leader of the convention and wrote the Declaration of Sentiments, which many prominent feminists, both men and women, then signed, "creating men and women equal."
