The YWCA of Carlisle is located at 301 G Street, Carlisle, PA 17013. The Carlisle YWCA , incorporated in 1919, has a long history of advocating for women and girls, and started clubs for African American girls in the 1930's. In 2005, YWCA Carlisle provided services to over 19,000 men, women and children. Even though its programs and services have changed, the YWCA's heart and soul have not. The YWCA's mission statement is: "Empowering Women, Eliminating Racism." (YWCA) |

Projects & Initiatives
Social Justice Committee:
The Social Justice Committee works to eliminate racism in the community by providing opportunities for community members to participate in educational programs and activities that directly promote anti-bias attitudes and behaviors. The committee plans and promotes activities for its annual Week Without Violence during the 3rd week of October, and the Day of Committment for the Elimination of Racism during the last week of April.
